Dreams

So, I was thinking today....what is it that I would LOVE to do (job wise)? A couple of thoughts:
1. Esthetician - I enjoy skin care & cosmetology 2. Makeup Consultant (I have done MK before) - for reasons above, plus, it's my own business - I am the boss, yet I get to learn & mentored & challenged continuously! 3. Wedding Coordinator/Consultant (did this in past too)- Again, my own boss, and I get to learn & hook up with many talented awesome people throughout my community and the world at large (when you get into this business & with experience, you can go international for location weddings!) .... and, I LOVE seeing people enter into this covenant together. And....I love to dance ! That's more of a hobby, since I'm past the peak of doing anything major in the physical area (esp. post childbirth! Heehee.).

So in this new season, I have looked among our photos and realized we are, what America would call a "nuclear" family. Hm.... that provokes new thoughts. If we are indeed nuclear, what do we do with our "nuclear" waste? How do we dispose of it.... when we have our problems, our defeats, our burdens? I have made a paralell, with how the world has figured out how to deal with nuclear waste - we haven't. We have made something entirely of our own, and we have not figured out how to dispose of it appropriately since we developed "nuclear" technology. So what do we do with our "waste"? We dump it. Freedom

In the amount of time it took for me to think that I was fully supported, much happened. As I continued thorugh school, making the dean's list, and thoroughly enjoying my husband taking care of the kids almost full time (as he said he would when I went back to school), he began applying for jobs - out of state. Yep. Honestly & hope again were tossed aside to continue his dream. Not merely pieces of me were demanded & expected by him, but my life, my hopes, my dreams, my being. I began praying for an early death - again.  So, we moved to a small town (pardon my discreetness here) wherein which I figured out that the journey and path before me would not change. I would forever be fighting his dreams and his goals, and his marriage to his ministry. It was apparent to me in the short time we were in that town, that he wanted something so different than I, and had hoped he could mold me into that human being. From AUGUST 2018 - History Lesson

Marginalization of GORUCK women ... there IS a history lesson in here I promise!  Recently it came to my attention that perhaps one of my most beloved groups has been, and perhaps always will be guilty of that which I’ve tried to avoid most – marginalizing women.  What?! Isn’t that insane? You’d think any woman who is nutty, crazy, and courageous enough to pick up a weighted back pack and perform military physical conditioning along with a 10-15-20+ mile galivant around their town with additional challenges would hold some clout in an organization’s mind (esp. one that profits off of her signing up and showing up, sporting their gear, paying them $$$ to participate etc...). I am finding it difficult to even write this. I always viewed GORUCK as supportive of both men and women, empowering one another through tough, guided, team and endurance building activities.
